Newsletter #27

 May 18th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hi Everyone, here we are nearing the end of May already! Next week will be a fun week. Children are now free to bring any one item for Show and Tell.

On Monday we were excited to see many of our caterpillars had transformed into chrysalids. We practiced printing the letter y and had more fun using counting collections. Later we added a page into our butterfly observation journals and made butterfly symmetry art.

Tuesday, we learned about choosing different forms of units for measurement and measured each other! We also focused on adding finger spaces between words in our writing and how this makes it much easier to read. Later we met “Trusty” a puppet from our Care Kit. Trusty will be helping us learn about our bodies and how to respect them.

On Wednesday we had a caterpillar themed literacy/numeracy activity and then counted insects in math. We also enjoyed the choir singing and went to the library. The library will be closing soon to start the yearly inventory so please make sure all library books are returned next week.

Thursday, we learned more about the butterfly life cycle and wrote butterfly inspired poetry. Later the kids went to Music and then we took care of the garden. The tent caterpillars continue to be a fascination...
