April 23rd Edition of
The Kindergarten/1 Class News
Hello Everyone.
Well, our summer weather has started. Please send hats on hot days!
We had a fun week, full of events. Earth Day was celebrated by participating in multi-aged group activities with a nature theme. Our chicks also started to hatch and at this point we have 8 little cuties.
We have begun talking about nutrition and healthy eating. This week we brainstormed fruits and vegetables that come in all the colours of the rainbow!
We also continue our unit on measurement, addition and are working on writing our own stories.
The kids were excited to learn about some edible plants in our forest, including maple blossoms.
We are planning a big field trip off island in May. We will visit the bug zoo and the petting zoo! I will need 2 parent volunteers who are prepared to help supervise a small group of children for the day. I will take the first 2 to respond.
We have gone though all the letters of the alphabet for Show and Tell. Children may bring one item of their choice from now on.
