Newsletter #25

March 12th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone, here is the last newsletter before the break.

This week on Monday we continued our creative movement classes with Robbyn Scott, started creating a beautiful undersea mural and worked on poetry in our journals. We also had our final library visit before the break and went out to the forest.

Tuesday was the 100th day of school! We celebrated the number 100 throughout the day and also created starfish for our sea mural. We also continued working on syllables in our Oral Language groups.

On Wednesday we had math in the morning, worked on a special writing booklet and practiced our reading. Later we focused on the sense of sight in the forest and noticed many beautiful signs of spring.

Thursday was our last day together before the break. We had our last dance session with Robbyn Scott, went to Whole School Meeting and had Music class. Later we worked on reading and then went outside.

Spare clothing/inside shoes were sent home for Spring Break. Please check that shoes and clothes still fit and send back when we return on the 30th.

We will be on the letter ‘Ww’ for Show and Tell when we return after the break.

Important dates to remember:
March 30 School back in session
April 6 Student teacher starts
April 13 Easter Monday (No School)

March 5th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone, one more week to go until Spring Break!

This week on Monday we joined 3 of the other classes on a trip to Artspring to watch The Flight of the Hummingbird opera. The kids enjoyed taking the school bus to town and going to the theatre. Later, we went to the Library to check out new books. Please send back any overdue books so that your child can sign out a new book.

Tuesday we had another dance session with Robbyn Scott and we worked on our printing. Later we worked on syllables in our Oral Language groups and made umbrella art for Uu week.

On Wednesday we worked in our journals and shared our animal books that we made. The kids were all very proud of their work. Later the kids went to math with Mrs. Freeman and some kids went to play lab. The forest is starting to bloom and everyone enjoyed some time in the sun.

Thursday was a half-day to accommodate the Student Led Conferences. We had free choice in the gym, and practiced for the conferences. The kids worked hard to prepare for this day and took a lot of pride in sharing their growth and knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to come share in this experience with your child.

Next Tuesday is the 100th day of school! We will be celebrating by exploring the number 100 in many of our activities. If you feel like putting together a collection of 100 items (100 beads, 100 stickers, 100 noodles etc) you could send it in for Show and Tell.

Important dates to remember:
March 10 100’s day
March 13 First day of Spring Break
March 30 School back in session
