February 13th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone!
Here are some highlights from our week:

Monday was a nice day. We worked on rhyming and printing. Later we went to the library and Kaz mentioned many children have overdue books out. If you have a library book at home, please return it next week. Later we saw signs of spring in the forest as we played.

On Tuesday we had our first dance class with Robbyn Scott. The kids really enjoyed it. Later, the class worked on breaking up sentences into words and then recreating meaningful sentences during our Oral Language Groups. We also worked on measurement and made Valentine’s bags to for our cards.

Wednesday we continued learning about healthy food choices and wrote in our journals. Some kids went to play lab in the afternoon and others got to check out our new sea aquarium! As always, we ended our day in the forest.

On Thursday the kids had a fun day. We had free choice in the gym, worked on adding to 10 using tens frames and had the vision and hearing screenings done. Later the kids went to music and we ended our day with a Valentine’s party. Thanks to the parents who sent in snacks to share, it always makes these days more special. The kids all enjoyed our special afternoon.

Kindergarten registration is open! If you know of any children who will be turning 5 this year, please remind families to enrol at the office as soon as possible.

Also, raffle tickets were sent home. There are a number of wonderful prizes to be won. The draw will take place at the Spring Showcase. Please send the ticket booklets and money of sold tickets back to school. If you don’t see yourself selling the tickets, please send them back so others can use them. Thanks!
