The Kindergarten Class News

Hello All

What a busy week!

On Monday we were surprised to see an early duck hatch out! We also worked on our writing, went to Music, and made duck hatching art. We planted more carrots in the garden and enjoyed forest play.

Tuesday was very exciting as the rest of the ducklings started hatching and we added them to the brooder. We also had our second to last dance session with Kristen Lewis and continued stretching out the sounds in words during our Oral Language Groups. Outside, we drew what we could hear during nature art.

On Wednesday the kids continued writing, practiced adding up different types of insects and enjoyed a fun and upbeat performance from Ache Brazil! I was away for a union meeting.

Thursday was a full day. We welcomed another new student to our class (Jasper) and enjoyed watching the ducklings play and swim. The kids were high energy, and the class feels very full! We used our ducks as inspiration in our writing and learned that different insects have different types of mouths. See the little books that came home.

Friday was a school day and our last day with the ducks. We welcomed the 3/4 class in to do a big buddy activity. They helped our class make origami cats! That was fun. We also went to nature class, practiced reading, and worked on one more/one less in a number activity.

From now on, Show and Tell is free choice. We no longer need to match items to a letter.
