The Kindergarten Class News

Hi Everyone! What a week!

Here are some highlights:

Monday, we had a lot of fun working on story telling in our story workshops. The kids focused on a beginning, middle and end while adding a problem to solve. Rory was the winner of a pink shirt for Pink Shirt Day.

On Tuesday the class worked on syllables in our Oral Language groups. Ask your child to clap out a word for you! Later we worked on our story workshops again and the kids went to Music class.

Wednesday was Pink Shirt Day! It was great seeing the school support anti-bullying in this way. Wednesday was also the beginning of a 6 week-long writing blitz we have started with Mrs. Lamirand! The kids blew us away with their stamina and focus. We also worked on math, and talked about the proper names for the “private parts” during our C.A.R.E. kit lesson.

Thursday was another fun writing session with Mrs. Lamirand. I had an appointment after recess so Mrs. Lamirand taught the rest of the day.

Important dates to remember:

March 4 Early dismissal for Student Led Conferences. I have contacted all of the parents I would like to meet with. If you did not hear from me, there’s no need to set up a meeting unless you have something specific to discuss.

March 12 First day of Spring Break

March 29 School back in session

April 5th Easter Monday (No School)

Warmly,
