Newsletter #10

 November 19th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Greetings Everyone.

Monday the kids practiced printing the lowercase letter ‘j’ and are gaining stamina in writing. We have been learning about weather and made umbrella art to go with the rain! The heavy rain has completely flooded the forest paths and we now have ponds to splash in. Thanks for sending rain gear, we sure use it!

On Tuesdaythe kids continued working with wordless picture books to tell a story in our Oral Language Groups. Later, we made weather books that were sent home and Ms. Rose had the class for the afternoon while I was in a meeting.

Wednesday, we started learning about different numbers that add up to 10 and talked about some of the different ways we can communicate. The class worked hard to draw/write about their favourite way to communicate in their journals. Wednesday was also library day and most of the kids signed out a new book.

On Thursday we had a surprise fire drill, everyone did a great job being flexible and going with the flow. We then talked about the different seasons and enjoyed a sunny recess. Everyone was happy to see Mrs. Freeman back after being away due to a broken arm. We talked about casts and everyone had a story to tell!

I am so happy that our school is going ahead with our annual Re-gift Fest this year. This is a day where the kids get to “shop” for gifts for the immediate members in their family. If you can bring in lightly used toys/household items to donate for this event by Dec. 1st, they will be set up on Dec. 8th for the kids to choose from. No clothing please.

Next week is ‘Hh’ week for Show and Tell.

Important dates to remember:

December 3rd is an early dismissal day. If you would like to meet with me to discuss anything, please let me know.
