 November 13th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone!

Another week flies by. It was an interesting week with the little break in the middle. Here are some highlights:

On Monday, we learned about printing the lowercase letter ‘g’, practiced underhand throwing in the gym and made hibernating bear art. We continued our study of hibernation in the afternoon.

Tuesday we had our virtual school Remembrance Day Assembly and were happy to hear that many of you joined in on Zoom. We continued learning about storytelling in our Oral Language Groups and went to Music in the afternoon.

Wednesday was Remembrance Day and a holiday.

On Thursday we continued our hibernation focus with a writing project to add to our sleepy bears and worked on higher/lower numbers. We also celebrated filling up our kindness jar!

Scholastic book orders were sent home on Thursday. If you would like to order a book for Christmas and keep it a surprise, email me and I will get it home to you discretely when it arrives. It is easy to place your order online by going to https://canadaclubs.scholastic.ca/en/home The class code is on your flier. There are many good titles online that may not be listed in the catalogue.

Friday was a school day on a Wednesday schedule (confusing?). We practiced ‘making 5’ in math, talked about how we communicate best in our journals and went to the library. We also worked a bit more on our reading and went to check out the bog. It is slowly filling up with water!

Please make sure your child has rain gear at school. It is necessary for them to keep warm and dry while we learn outdoors.

Also, please make sure you are sending snacks/containers that your child can open independently.

Have a nice weekend!
