October 10th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone! What a wonderful week. We have been learning a lot about pumpkins, seasons and being a good friend.

On Monday we practiced printing the letter f and made beautiful pumpkin art. The kids signed out new books from the library and we welcomed some local fire fighters in to the class who taught us about fire safety. Later, we had our first fire drill (lucky for us we were already outside). There is an open house at the Ganges fire station this Saturday.

On Tuesday we joined up with Ms. K’s 1-2 class and enjoyed a morning of dance! We all learned a dance routine that we performed for the school in the afternoon. So fun! We also had our Oral Language groups where we are focusing on storytelling.

Wednesday we talked about what it means to be thankful, and then made a thankful book! We also made applesauce for the harvest lunch and picked apples to eat from our garden. It was a beautiful, crisp day.

Thursday was our Garden Harvest Lunch. What a treat! It was so nice to gather as a school and enjoy the wonderful food each class helped to make. A big thanks to all the parents and students who helped make this happen. At our Whole School Meeting, Melissa and Reverie presented their artwork to the school. Good job!

The kids are enjoying sharing their special items from home on their show and tell day. Next week they are encouraged to bring something that begins with the letter ‘C’. Please try to stick to your day so we have time to hear from each child. Thanks! Here is the list again; it will be the same every week:

Monday or Friday: Athena, Duke B, Duke F and Louis
Tuesday: James, Lachie and Nathan
Wednesday: Melissa, Max and Reverie
Thursday: Rosemary, Patrick and Winter
