 February 17th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Greetings Everyone!

It was an exciting week at school for the kids with the sunny weather and our Valentine’s celebration. I was pulled away from the class a few times for meetings and the kids were very well behaved for the Teacher On Call.

Monday was Valentine’s Day! The children continued their printing practice, made heart art, and went to Music class. The kids were very excited to exchange cards and bring their card bags home full!

On Tuesday, we had another session of our Oral Language Groups and we started learning about compound words. The kids rocked this! We also worked on beginning sounds and went to the library.

Wednesday I was in meetings all day and Mrs. Freeman taught the class. They worked very hard in their journals and enjoyed an alphabet hunt out in nature. Later they practiced reading and went to the forest.

On Thursday, we used our measuring skills to “plant” a flower garden, finished off our balanced nutrition plates (ask your child to tell you about the different food groups on their plate). We also learned a new “word of the week” (he) and enjoyed our nature time.

Also, if you know of any children who will be turning 5 this year, Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year is now open.
