 June 3rd Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hi Everyone, here are the highlights from our busy week!

On Monday the class practiced printing the number 8, worked very hard in their journals and started another butterfly art project. I was away.

Tuesday, we decomposed the number 5 in math and started learning about good nutrition. The kids have been learning about what food does for your body, how different foods have different jobs and how having a balanced diet helps your body get the nutrients it needs. The class also went to music and the forest.

On Wednesday we continued making our nutrition plates and played a fun water balloon toss game! Then I let the kids all try to get me with their water balloons. It was fun. We visited the library, after missing last week, and then went outside. Our bean plants are getting big in the garden!

On Thursday we finished off our nutrition plates, studied the butterflies and went to music. Most of the caterpillars have started transforming into chrysalides! We are excited to watch them hatch into butterflies. We also had our last nature art session and enjoyed the cool forest.

We are down to the final weeks of school for the year. Please keep track of the upcoming events.

Important dates to remember:

June 24th Primary Fun Day!

June 28th (Possible) End of the year picnic at Drummond Park. Still trying to figure this out.

June 29th Last day of school, Kindergarten graduation (please mark your calendars)! I usually invite parents in for an end of the year celebration, but because of COVID-19 protocols, things will look a little different this year. Stay tuned to what I figure out.

Have a nice weekend.

Warmly,

Ara Van Riel
