November 1st Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello once again!

We had a spooktacular week!

Monday we practiced printing the lowercase ‘c’. We also had Jessica in again to help with our math stations and went to the library. Later in the afternoon we practiced writing our names in nature and had fun in the forest.

On Tuesday we made rainbow letters and focused on the different ways people communicate (words, sign language, body language, writing, drawing etc.). We wrote and drew about communicating in our journals. In the forest the kids used a hula-hoop Ven diagram to compare similarities and differences in different coloured leaves.

Wednesday was a day full of excitement and anticipation. We enjoyed the costume parade, went to a haunted house and made a witches brew! The afternoon was our class party. We all had a blast and everyone enjoyed the shared snack. Thanks to the parents who contributed, what a treat!

Thursday everyone was understandably a little tired after the festivities and appreciated it being PJ day! We made firework art and Violet and Marrella showed theirs to the school at our Whole School Meeting. The kids went to music and then learned more about story telling and using ‘juicy words’ through wordless picture books during Oral Language Groups.

As we are now in the rainy season, please remember to send your child to school with a rain jacket. We spend time outdoors most days and the children need a waterproof layer. Rain pants and rubber boots are also helpful items.

Important Dates to remember:
Nov. 7 Fulford’s Remembrance Day Assembly at 11:00am
Nov. 12 School closed for Remembrance Day Holiday
Nov. 16 Early Dismissal
Nov. 19 Photo retakes
Nov.27-29 Book Fair
Nov. 28 Early Dismissal for Student Led Conferences (this is considered your child’s report card so it is important to be available on this day. A sign up sheet was shared through a link provided. If you are unable to use the doc let me know what time slot you would like and I can fill it in for you if it's still free).

Have a great weekend!
