Newsletter #7

October 24th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Greetings Everyone!
We had another beautiful week! Here are some highlights to keep you in the loop.

Monday the class visited the library, practiced printing the lowercase letter o and worked on reading. In the forest, the children enjoyed learning a local First Nations legend about how Mt. Maxwell became “hunched over”. We braved the heavy rain and played in the puddles.

On Tuesday was a busy day. We learned a fun game from Quentin, had our school photos and then went to the pumpkin patch! It was a fun afternoon in the sun.

Wednesday we made spider web art, wrote in our journals about what love is and then went upstairs to do math with Mrs. Lamirand.

Thursday was pizza day! We used a pumpkin to measure how many pumpkins tall we all were and at the Whole School Meeting Duke F. and Paddy presented their work. Later the kids went to music and then we created beautiful letters out of nature for our alphabet wall.

Next Thursday is Halloween! Students are welcome to come to school in their costumes (we will have a costume parade in the morning with the whole school) and we will be having a class party in the afternoon. If you would like to send in a healthy snack to be shared, the kids would love it. Our class party will start at 1:40pm if you feel like popping in!
Just a reminder that weapon aspects of a costume should be left at home and if there is a mask involved, the mask will only be worn during the costume parade.

Dates to Remember:
Oct. 31 Halloween and class party in the afternoon.
Nov. 11 Remembrance Day (no school)
Nov. 15 School in session

Have a great weekend!
