 June 1st Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hi everyone, here are the highlights from our busy week!

On Monday we continued learning about ‘slider’ letters in printing. Mrs. Creech led some fun math games and then we practiced reading. The afternoon was fun as we all enjoyed a “One Woman Circus”!

Tuesday, we made shape animals out of pattern blocks, had free choice in the gym and continued working on adding a sense detail in our writing. Later we went to Music and went to the forest. The peas in the garden are still growing!

On Wednesday morning we did a reading assessment and later went to the Whole School Meeting. Just a reminder that the library is now closed for inventory, so we need ALL library books to be returned as soon as possible. We talked about appropriate touching (a mutual hug with a loved one) vs. inappropriate touching (tickling too hard/too long) and that we have a right to say STOP.

On Thursday we learned about the word “my” and played number/letter bingo. Later the kids went to Music and then had an outdoor picnic while I toured next year’s Kindergarten class! The day was followed by the PAC BBQ and Magic Show. Wonderful!

We are down to the final weeks of school for the year. Please keep track of the upcoming events.

Important Dates to Remember:

June 5 Conservancy Field Trip to Duck Creek

June 26 School/Family Picnic at Drummond Park

June 28 National Indigenous Day

June 29 Kindergarten graduation celebration and slideshow (2:30pm…you are invited!)

Have a nice weekend.

Warmly,
