May 11th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hello All,
What a nice, warm week! Now that the days are warmer, you may want to send your child to school with a sun hat and apply sunscreen before school.
On Monday we worked on our printing and started learning more about butterflies! The caterpillars grew a lot over the weekend! The kids had fun counting collections of different objects and later all made beautiful butterfly art.
Tuesday, we measured things around the room and worked on using our letter knowledge to add words to our writing. Later we became scientists and started a butterfly observation journal! We will be documenting the stages in development and making meaningful observations.
On Wednesday used “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” to help practice story sequence. We also created cards for a special adult and went to the library. Outside, we created nature bracelets and enjoyed the sunshine!
Thursday, we had free choice in the gym! We also made a craft with our big buddies, worked more on writing, and went to Music class. In preparation for the hot weekend, we watered our pea garden and made sure they had a little shade. It was Moose Hide Campaign day and we learnt how we all have medicine to share with others by being kind. Something always worth thinking about!
Next week is the letter Z for show and tell. After that, the kids can bring any item they wish. Please only let your child bring toys on their show and tell day. Items get lost and cause unnecessary upset when extra toys come to school. Thanks!
