Newsletter #9

 November 17th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Greetings Everyone. We have yet to have the whole class back. Hopefully next week!

Monday I was away for a meeting. The class practiced printing the lowercase letter “o”, figured out how many syllables were in their names and made fall tree art.

On Tuesdaythe kids worked on sequencing 6 picture cards to tell a story in our Oral Language Groups. Later, we practiced representing the number 1 in different ways, went to music and started learning about the 5 senses while in the forest.

Wednesday, we started learning about hibernation and wrote about where we would like to sleep in our journals. The kids are working on adding details and colours to their drawings. Later it was our Whole School Meeting and then the library. Please remember to return all library books. The librarian has been generously letting kids sign out a book even if they didn’t return the last one and this can lead to lost books. We continued learning about our senses, focussing on the sense of smell.

On Thursday we continued learning about hibernation, worked on math skills and went to Music class. Later the class enjoyed the beautiful crisp afternoon in the forest.

Next week is ‘Gg’ week for Show and Tell.

As mentioned in the Fulford newsletter, Re-Gift Fest is coming up! It is a much-loved school event where families donate gently used items for us to set up in our “Christmas Store.” The students then shop in the Christmas Store for free for gifts for each of their immediate family members. Families are asked to kindly start setting aside gently used items suitable for a range of ages (baby to adult) but no clothing, please. We suggest you donate the same number of items as there are members in your family. Also, any donations of wrapping paper/gift bags/tags would be greatly appreciated. Donations are to be brought to the office starting on November 28th.
