May 19th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hi Everyone, here we are nearing the end of May already! To say it was an exciting week would be an understatement. Here are the highlights.
On Monday we started implementing everything we have been working on during our EPIC project in our writing. We also started having fun with the rainbow parachute in the gym. Later we made butterfly art and then the power went out due to a transformer malfunction. The kids went to music class and then we played outside. It was a slightly more dramatic start to our week. I took the chick eggs/incubator home.
Tuesday, we had no power all day as the hydro crews worked to restore our electricity. We continued on and had a fun day. We played a bug themed number/letter Bingo, wrote more and went to the library. Later we “collected” shadows in nature art.
On Wednesday we had power! We enjoyed a lovely performance by the school choir and had our last writing session with Mrs. Thompson. We will be moving on to mental health sessions. It was a very windy day and sure enough, we lost power. The wind also brought down a mighty maple by our playground and we all stayed safely indoors for the afternoon.
Thursday, we welcomed by a beautiful sunny day and no wind. It was a good end to the dramatic week. We practiced counting, decoded mystery words, and made insects out of nature. I think everyone was ready for the weekend.
