November 12th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hello Everyone!
Another week flies by. It was an interesting week with the little break in the middle. Here are some highlights:
On Monday, we learned about printing the lowercase letter ‘a’, practiced underhand throwing in the gym and made poppy art for Remembrance Day. During our outside time, we continued our study of the five senses, this time focusing on the sense of smell.
On Tuesday we practiced counting the number 5 in different ways, we continued learning about storytelling in our Oral Language Groups and went to the library. Quinten visited us in the afternoon, and we made salmon “stuffies”.
Wednesday, we practiced writing our numbers is a fun number race game. We also wrote about peace in our journals, went outside with Ms. Cameron and practiced reading. In the outside classroom, we focused on our sense of touch by reaching into bags and used describing words to explain what we felt.
Thursday was Remembrance Day and a holiday.
Friday was a school day and crazy hair day! We had free choice in the gym, practiced rhyming and continued learning about hibernation and migration. We took this theme outside and played a fun game in the forest.
Important dates to remember:
Dec. 2 Early dismissal
Dec. 10 School in session
Dec. 17 Winter break begins
Have a nice weekend!
Warmly,
Ara Van Riel and Ms. Janice
