Newsletter #25

 April 1st Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hello families, I hope you all had a good break. It is nice to feel the beauty of spring all around us after such a long winter.

Monday was our first day back and everyone was happy to see each other. We jumped right back into our writing and the children were inspired to write about their holiday. We also used Q-tips to paint easter egg pictures and made beautiful nature bracelets outside. During our morning math talk, we started representing the number of the day in many different ways!

Tuesday we continued our work on isolating the beginning sound in words, wrote more and went to music. We also got our garden bed ready for planting!

On Wednesday we played a fun egg hunting math activity, practiced our writing and went to the library. We talked about inappropriate touching in our Care Kit lesson and how some people use tricks, bribes or force to try to make you do things. Try coming up with a family code word for your child to use if they are in an uncomfortable situation. Later we planted snap peas in the garden! It was a beautiful afternoon.

Thursday was another full day. We started our day off with writing, practiced comparing numbers in math and went to music. Later we played a PE game outside and watered the garden. As always, we ended the day in the forest and the kids had fun finding and hiding eggs! Report cards were sent home.

Important dates to remember:

April 5th Easter Monday-No school

April 9th School in session

April 12th Laura Keil in to do a clay workshop.

Wishing you all a nice long weekend.

Warmly,

Ara Van Riel
