March 11th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hello Everyone, here is the last newsletter before the break.
This week on Monday we started adding a feeling to our writing. Mrs. Freeman was with the class during this block and was very impressed with our little writers! We also made beautiful spring flowers in art and enjoyed a sunny afternoon in the garden and forest.
Tuesday, we started learning about alliteration in our Oral Language groups. The kids practiced isolating the beginning sound in words. We also continued our writing practice and made sure our pictures matched our words. Later the class went to Music and it was another sunny afternoon outside.
On Wednesday Mrs. Lamirand helped with our writing black and we played a fun math game. Library books were not checked out as they often get lost over the break. We also talked about how touching can be appropriate and inappropriate and to remember that our bodies are our own during our C.A.R.E. kit lesson.
Thursday was a very exciting day! It was the 100th day of school (!!) plus it was pizza day, crazy hair day and the last day before the break. The kids were, understandably, very high energy! Thanks for sending in the collections of 100 items, it was fun to see these representations! We explored the number 100 throughout the day and had a lot of fun!
We will be on the letter ‘Vv’ for Show and Tell when we return after the break.
Important dates to remember:
March 29 School back in session
April 5 Easter Monday (No School)
April 9 Friday School Day (Monday Schedule)
I hope you all have an enjoyable Spring Break, whatever it is you get up to.
Warmly,
Ara Van Riel
