May 2nd Edition of
The K/1 Class News
Hello all,
This week seemed to fly by! The chicks are rambunctious and ready to head to the farm. I brought in a couple baby ducklings to join the flock and it couldn’t get any cuter. Next, we move onto learning about butterflies and received 34 teeny tiny Painted Lady caterpillars. We will study their transformation over the next 3 weeks.
Our class recited numbers 1-10 in Hul'qumi'num for the school at our Whole School Meeting this week. Well done! We also made beautiful nature bracelets and completed our special clay project.
The kids continue to progress in reading and writing and are learning about punctuation. Our focus in math is doubles.
Please remember to return the blue permission slips that went home early this week and have a look at the family traditions homework (due back Monday unless your child was away).
Tuesday is class photos! Please have your child at school on time as we start right away and there is no chance of a re-take.
We have gone through all the letters for Show and Tell. Children are welcome to bring items of their choice now.
