February 29th Edition of
The K/1 Class News
Hi Everyone! What a week!
Here are some highlights:
The class worked on syllables in our Oral Language groups. Ask your child to clap out a word for you! Later we worked on our story workshops again and the kids went to Music class.
Mrs. Cheryl has introduced a math unit on measurement, and we continue learning about objects in the sky during science.
Mrs. Cheryl has been introducing new Hul’qimi’num words and we are learning to say the numbers 1-10.
Wednesday was Pink Shirt Day! It was great seeing the school support anti-bullying in this way. It was also a VERY wet day. Almost everyone has used their spare pants and socks. Please send back any loaners and an extra supply for school.
Also, it seems the class is going through a growth spurt! Many children are finishing off all their food and needing more.
Important Dates to Remember:
March 12 K hearing screening
March 14 Last Day of School before Spring Break
April 2 Back to school
April 3 Clay workshop
April 5 School in session
Warmly,
