January 19th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hi Everyone!
There continues to be ongoing sickness in students and teachers. I hope we start to see a shift soon. Here is a recap of some of the things we did this week.
On Monday we worked math into our penguin art and counted fish to feed the penguins using simple addition. We also made “snowpeople” using the letters in our names and explored the very wet forest! Rubber boots are a must these days!
Tuesday, we started back up with our Oral Language Groups and focused on rhyme. We also learned more about the number 8 and went to music. Mrs. Seabrook filled in for me as I had to attend a health and safety training session.
On Wednesday Mrs. Seabrook taught again as I had to be in another meeting all day. They continued learning about rhyme and syllables in literacy centres. After the library, the kids enjoyed viewing projects on display from the “big kids” and went outside.
Thursday, we had a fun time in the gym and practiced printing the lowercase letter ‘n’. We also had our big buddies come down and practice reading with us. Quinten visited in the afternoon and joined us in the forest.
Kindergarten registration has opened early this year! Please let any families with children turning 5 this year to register as soon as possible.
Important Dates to Remember:
February 14 Valentine’s Day
