Newsletter #26

 April 21st Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hello again.

The kids had another fun week, aside from the sickness going around. We had very low attendance this week.

We have welcomed another new student, Frankie, to our group and our new class dynamic is starting to settle. We hope to see everyone back next week!

Monday there was no school due to the Easter long weekend.

Tuesday, everyone was excited to share stories about their long weekend and the kids wrote about these stories in writing. We had another dance class with Kristen Lewis and we started working on identifying ending sounds in our oral language groups. The class went to the library and then we candled our duck eggs! It was fascinating to “see” inside the changing eggs. So far, it seems about half the eggs are developing nicely.

On Wednesday we continued working on our writing with a focus on spring. We used marbles to paint with and the kids went to nature class.

Thursday was a fun day! We worked with partners in math, continued with our story workshop and then enjoyed a fantastic Spring Showcase! There were so many talented displays and performances. Well done!

On Friday I was “away” for a literacy conference, but the kids had a good Earth Day. They completed their art project with a sentence about how they can help the earth and went outside to explore nature with their senses for writing. It was the book exchange which was a fun way to demonstrate reusing.

Important Dates to Remember:

May 6 School in session (Wednesday schedule)

May 23 Victoria Day (no school)

May 27 School in session (Monday schedule)

Have a nice weekend!
