Newsletter #30

 May 6th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hello all,

This week seemed to fly by!

On Monday we worked on our printing (number 4, “D,own and over, down once more. That’s the way to make a 4”), continued with the parachute in the gym and started learning about butterflies! The kids all made beautiful butterfly art. Later we made insects in nature and enjoyed the forest.

Tuesday, we had our Oral Language Groups, learned about the life cycle of a butterfly and went to Music class. The beans have now sprouted up in our garden bed so we will have a mix of beans and peas growing!

On Wednesday the kids collected insects to count in math and worked very hard on a Mother’s Day project. We went to the library and then used only things found in nature to explore making different colours!

Thursday, we had free choice in the gym! We also worked on a math word problem and wrote in our journals. I had a meeting in the afternoon, but the kids went to Music and then had forest play. Mother’s Day gifts were sent home today! Please check your child’s bag.

Important dates to remember:

May 13th Thursday Dance classes begin (starting a week later than previously organized).

May 14th School Day

May 19th Class Photos

May 24th Victoria Day (No school)

May 28th School Day

Wishing all of you a happy weekend.
