December 3rd Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hello Everyone!
What a beautiful week, full of frost and sunshine. The class has really started to gel and a whole group and it’s so nice to see them playing so well together.
On Monday the class worked on printing, made some beautiful art using different kinds of lines and played in centres. We started our “Word of the Week” this week and our first word we looked at was “I”. The kids were very excited about it and can’t wait for the next one.
Tuesday was our last session using wordless picture books in our Oral Language Groups. This time we focused on adding “juicy” words to our stories. Later we talked about ways we can help out at home and the kids wrote and drew about their ideas. During our outside time, the kids used natural objects to write their names.
Wednesday was another beautiful day and the kids all loved playing in the frosty field. We focused on shapes in math, and the kids graphed them to see what shaped occurred the most. We talked about our favourite winter memories in our journals and went to the library. As always, the kids also had fun outside and enjoyed going on a nature scavenger hunt!
On Thursday Mrs. Freeman was with the class. They worked on patterns in math and then joined the Grade 1-2 class for some buddy reading! It was very exciting. Thursday was also an early dismissal day.
Next week is ‘Jj’ week in Show and Tell.
Important dates to remember:
