Newsletter #30

May 9th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone, what a beautiful week. It feels like summer is here already!

On Monday we continued our insect theme in math and counted “critters”. We also practiced editing writing we are working on and went to the library. There are only a couple of weeks left of book sign-outs. The library will close to run inventory at the end of the month and all books will need to be returned. Later we went outsideand enjoyed working on our nature art with Lisa.

Tuesday we created insects in art, went on a Story Walk put on by ELF and made Mother’s Day cards (gifts/cards went home). As always, the kids loved playing in centres time and in the forest.

On Wednesday I was home sick but somehow class went on as usual (ha ha)The kids had another session of dance in the gym, worked on printing and enjoyed having Quentin visit the class. Later the kids worked on reading and learned more about nutrition with Mary who was in for Kaz.

Thursday was our Whole School Meeting and Poppy, Jace and Silka showed their insects to the school. The kids went to Music and we had our second to last Oral Language Group. It was a very hot day and we all helped weed and water the garden before forest play.

Important dates to remember:
May 13th Class and School Photos
May 15th Field trip to the Ganges Firehall and the library
May 20th Victoria Day (No school)
May 21st Volunteer Tea at 2pm
May 22nd Primary Fun Day
