April 18th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News
Hello again.
The kids had another fun week.
On Monday we started a gymnastics unit in the gym, worked on expanding our ideas in journals, made a cute bunny craft and went to the library. Later we went outside for another session of nature art.
Tuesday we worked printing, worked on early literacy skills and made “Seed Houses” so we can watch the roots and shoots grow out of pea plants in the window.
On Wednesday we played a math games, worked on building sentences looking for a beginning capital and ending punctuation. We also had a fire drill, which was a little surprising for some of the kids but they all did great. Later we did some more planting and played outside.
Thursday was Pizza Day! We also had our Whole School Meeting and Jasmine, Poppy and Harvey read for the school. After that was Music and a math exploration. We continued working on identifying different sounds in words during our Oral Language Groups and then the children were thrilled to find that the "Easter Bunny" had been to our forest and left a few eggs out for them to find.
I am hoping to get the kids out for a walking trip to Pebble Beach next Friday if the weather cooperates. If you would like to come along, please let me know. We would leave the school at 12:45pm.
