June 7th Edition of
The K/1 Class News
Hi everyone, here are the highlights of our busy week!
On Monday morning, Quentin led outside games and told us a story about Eagle. We also practised our printing and attended the mural honouring ceremony. Later we visited the library - no more checking books out though. Outside we had a story, played "Owls and Mice" in the forest and celebrated Jude's birthday.
Tuesday we had our last visit with baby Max in roots of empathy. It has been so fun watching him grow and change! Later we wrote about things we love in journals and enjoyed centres time.
On Wednesday we had our trip to Duck Creek Park. What a fun day in nature! The class was divided into small groups, led by the Salt Spring Conservancy volunteers, and travelled through field and stream learning stations. It was a full and yet interesting trip. When we returned to the school we wrote about our experience.
On Thursday we made little books inspired by “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See?”, went to Whole School Meeting and Music class. Later on we welcomed next years kindergarten students into the class for our kindergarten orientation. It was so nice to see how this year's students turn into the “big kids” and helped the little ones feel comfortable.
We are down to the final weeks of school for the year. Please keep track of the upcoming events.
