Newsletter #8

 April 3rd Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hello families, I hope you all had a good break. It is nice to feel the beauty of spring all around us after a long winter.

Monday was our first day back and everyone was happy to see each other. Our class continues to grow! We welcomed another new friend this week.

We are excited to be getting into gardening! We had a visit from some of our garden parents who taught us about seeds and starts and we planted peas in our garden bed. We look forward to learning more about gardening in the coming weeks.

We have started learning about dance in the gym and continue to learn about health and body science.

I sent home some homework about your seasonal family traditions. This is a special project and I look forward to getting the sheets back on Monday so we can begin. Check the planner bag if you don't know what I'm talking about.

We are excited to learn about the life cycle of a duck and will begin incubating eggs next week.

Raffle tickets were also sent home in the planner bag and I hear the prizes are amazing!

The book fair browsing day is on Monday. A detailed letter was sent by Marcie.

There will be a lot of events between now and the end of the year. Please be sure to check your child’s planner for permission slips and notices and keep an eye on the school website.

Are you interested in volunteering? We still need volunteers for our trip to the Fire Hall on April 24th and the library needs helpers to run our scholastic book fair on April 23rd.

Important Dates to Remember:

April 8th – The Circle

April 7/8 – Book Fair

April 22nd – Earth Day

April 24th - Spring Showcase 1pm (parents are welcome to come watch!)

Newsletter #7

 March 14th Edition of

The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone, here is the last newsletter before the break.

We had a fun and full last couple of weeks. With the weather improving, we have been enjoying the time outside and notice spring flowers popping out everywhere.

Tuesday was a very exciting day! It was the 100th day of school (!!)Thanks for sending in the collections of 100 items, it was fun to see these representations! We explored the number 100 throughout the day and had a lot of fun! I was home sick, so I saved a special necklace activity until I got back, stretching out the celebration.

I do hope that the break from classes will clear up any cold and flu bugs and that we all return healthy.

We will be on the letter ‘Ww’ for Show and Tell when we return after the break.

Please send in a fresh change of spare clothes after the break. Many kids are out.

Important dates to remember:

March 31 School back in session

April 10 Artist in the classroom-clay project

April 21 Easter Monday (No School)

April 25 Friday School Day (Monday Schedule) and the Spring Showcase! More info to come.

I hope you all have an enjoyable Spring Break, whatever it is you get up to.

Warmly,

Ara Van Riel
