Hi Everyone! What a week!
Sickness sure spread through the school this week and the attendance was very low.
Here are some highlights:

Monday we continued learning about basketball in the gym and finished off our animal story workshops. You will see the finished products at the Student Led Conferences, the kids have really enjoyed this project. Later, we visited the library and went outside.

On Tuesday only 4 students were in attendance. The small class had another fun dance lesson from Robynn Scott, worked on compound words in our oral language groups and went to play lab. Later we took a nature walk to the bog and enjoyed the sunny afternoon.

Wednesday was Pink Shirt Day! It was great seeing the school support anti-bullying in this way. We made daffodil poem/art, went to math and had another turn at play lab. We also worked on identifying the beginning sound of words and played outside.

Thursday was another fun day. We worked more on compound words, played a fun math game involving shapes and had our gym time outside. In the afternoon we all enjoyed the Spring Showcase. There were many amazing acts and creations. Everyone loved it!

Reminder:
March 5th will be an early dismissal day for the Student Led Conferences. This is a mandatory activity as it is considered your child’s report card. If you cannot make it on the 5th we will have to reschedule the following week. Buses will run as usual and will leave the school at 12:05pm. Please sign up for a time to meet, if you haven’t already done so.

Important dates to remember:

Hi Everyone!
Here are some highlights from our week:

Monday the school was closed for Family Day.

On Tuesday the class had another fun dance lesson from Robynn Scott, worked on printing and continued our unit on healthy food choices. Later, we enjoyed the sunshine and made beautiful flower mandalas outside.

On Wednesday I was away at a Union meeting so Mrs. Freeman was with the class. The kids worked on journals, thought of foods to match every colour of the rainbow and practiced reading.

Thursday was our Whole School Meeting. This term we are raising money to donate to cancer research. Someone from the Copper Kettle came and graciously accepted the money raised last term. Thanks to those who brought in spare change. Each class was entered into a draw for a pink shirt and two pink bracelets to help support Pink Shirt Day (next Wed.). Louis won the pink shirt and Nathan and Duke B. won the bracelets. Congratulations! James, Melissa, Nathan and Reverie presented their project about healthy food choices.

Friday was PJ day! We have started creating our own stories! The kids are having fun coming up with characters, and figuring out the elements of a story. We also went to the library, measured each other using blocks and had a popcorn party! Another beautiful day.

March 5th will be an early dismissal day for the Student Led Conferences. This is a mandatory activity as it is considered your child’s report card. If you cannot make it on the 5th we will have to reschedule. Buses will run as usual and will leave the school at 12pm.
