Newsletter #14

December 20th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hello Everyone,
Here is our last newsletter before the break!

On Monday the class had their dress rehearsal for the Christmas concert, practiced printing and decorated gingerbread cookies.

Tuesday was full of anticipation. We played number Bingo, practiced our song and played centres with the grade 3-4 class while we waited out a downpour. That night was the Christmas Concert. The class did an amazing job singing their song and being an audience! All of our hard work paid off and they were wonderful. We were all impressed with the number of families who made it out to watch. Thank you!

Wednesday was a busy one! It was Pyjama day and we learned about what a predator is for penguins. We also worked on passing in the gym, wrote in our journals and enjoyed a Christmas ‘Read In’ (the kids all signed up to hear different stories in multi-age groupings). Later, Kaz made ‘friendship flowers’ with the class and we enjoyed Pizza Day!

On Thursday we worked on a winter themed reading activity, had our Whole School Meeting and Poppy, Caleb and Rowen talked about penguin predators. In the afternoon, the class braved the power outage and played indoors until they were reunited with families. What an adventure!

Blue art folder were sent home. Please return the folders in the new year so I can fill them up again for you.

Important dates to remember:
January 7 School re-opens
January 21 Schools closed
January 25 Friday school day

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and we will see you next year!
Warmly,

December 13th Edition of
The Kindergarten Class News

Hi Everyone!
It was another busy week!

On Monday the class worked on alphabet ordering through a fun penguin themed activity. We also learned about what penguins like to eat. Later, the kids went to the library (after a couple weeks missed), rehearsed our song and spent time exploring the forest.

Tuesday the class worked on printing, rehearsed their song for the concert and made angel ornaments. Later we went to the bog and noticed how much more water was in it! There were a few soggy socks on the way back… the water somehow always finds it’s way into some boots!

On Wednesday we wrote about how we help others in our journals and welcomed Glen (Drew’s dad) in to read a Christmas story he and another class had written. The kids all really enjoyed it!

Thursday the class went to the gym to practice our song on the stage. They are getting very good at singing! Please let me know if your child won’t be at the concert so I can adjust if needed. We also worked on numbers and went on a “rain safari” in the forest.

Next week is our final week of school before the break! Please check the dates below to see what will be happening. It will be 'Ii' week in show and tell.
